Don’t Let The “Fear Factor” Be A Barrier To Your Success!
Have you ever been afraid or had fear come up and stop you from moving forward in your business?
Fear is common with many entrepreneurs.
I call this the “Fear Factor,” which can create a massive barrier in your business if you are not careful. When does the “Fear Factor” arrive at your studio? Usually, it shows up when you are at the edge of your comfort zone, not quite sure if what you are about to do will be successful or not.
If you let it get to you, you will ultimately stop yourself from having the business and lifestyle you truly desire.
The thing about this “Fear Factor” is that we all have it, and we all know where it resides, but we may not have ever recognized it. Here is when it comes to life:
You may have wanted to attend a week-long photography school, the PPA Convention, or get one-on-one business coaching but didn’t do it because you were AFRAID to spend the money on YOU to become a better business person.
The “Fear Factor” may show up when you are in the salesroom, and you think the client should invest in the larger wall portrait or the better wedding package, but you don’t suggest it to your client.
It may be in the decision to hire someone to assist you in the studio. You are worried about keeping them busy and struggle internally with losing the control you had when you did the tasks yourself.
Whatever it is for you, it is vital to your success to move past it. Every time the “Fear Factor” appears, we know it is there because we get a pit in our stomach, and we try to rationalize our thoughts. In many cases, we give up what we genuinely desire, so we don’t have to face this fear.
This is one of the main reasons you’ll see photographers who are beginning to enjoy some financial success almost instantly retract and stop doing what brings them that success. And before you know it, they are back struggling again. They become paralyzed to do anything for fear of failure.
The truth of the matter is that the THING you mostly DESIRE – a six-figure business, higher sales averages, more sessions, a beach house, college education for your children IS on the OTHER SIDE of your “FEAR FACTOR.”
You cannot tap into the unlimited power of abundance when you come from a place of fear – it just can’t be done. The “Fear Factor” is just an imaginary stop sign. If you buy into the illusion and allow yourself to stop, you will struggle to get what you desire through your photography business. Your desires and dreams are on the other side – just waiting for you to step through.
That is why you hear successful studio owners say, “you need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. The biggest changes come when you are at the edge of your comfort zone!”
And it’s true; being on the other side of your “Fear Factor” will be uncomfortable. But when you’ve got the support you need, you’ll soon realize that you’ve got this, and the universe will open up for you.
